for electronic music artists

the tonic is a space for electronic music producers and DJs who fucking love what they do, yet feel the lifestyle is taking toll on their mental health.

Through a collection of articles, honest conversations, support and workshops, the tonic helps you create mental space, clarity, and focus so you can enjoy a long and successful career in electronic music without burning out or losing yourself in the process. By prioritizing yourself, your health and your overall well-being just a little more, you will create an effective, sustainable approach to your career that has you feeling great and mentally clear so you can focus on what matters most: electronic music.

I started the tonic because I chose to walk away from electronic music to literally save my own life. I was addicted to drugs and alcohol (one drink almost always turned into two, which pretty much always turned into a bender); I was burnt out, depressed, anxious and having panic attacks almost daily. Fast forward to today and I have a fantastic mental health with zero medication, I’m no longer battling drug and alcohol addiction, my mind is clear, I have loads of energy and I can stay focused all day long.

If this feels like something you’d love to experience while you grow your career in electronic music, you’re in the right place. I’m sharing what I’ve learned along this journey to getting my mental health back on track so other artists can find their own way forward through some of the biggest challenges many of us face.
(You can read my story here). I’ll also be (coming soon!) interviewing some incredible humans in our industry who have done the same, so you’ll have a broad perspective on things!

So, take a deep dive through the articles, or join headroom for a deeper dive—a weekly email with insights, perspective, and real talk on topics relatable to all of us. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming events and workshops too! It’s designed to support the humans who make this industry what it is. (That’s you!)
